Safety & Community Guidelines

Your safety comes first — always.

CarpoolQR is a matching tool for people who park at the same place. It does not screen people or guarantee safe rides. You are solely responsible for your decisions when you message, meet, or travel with anyone.

These Safety & Community Guidelines are part of using the Service. They are practical rules — not a promise that every interaction will be safe. In an emergency, contact local emergency services (for example 911 in Canada and the United States).

1. Age requirement

You must be 18 years of age or older to use CarpoolQR.

2. Matching software only

CarpoolQR does not background-check users, verify driver licences, inspect vehicles, provide insurance, dispatch rides, or supervise meetups. Any carpool or meeting is a private arrangement between users.

3. Works at many kinds of lots

The same rules apply at offices, campuses, plants, yards, hospitals, schools, and job sites: only join lots you are allowed to use, follow that facility’s access rules, and never share credentials or gate codes in chat unless the facility owner explicitly allows it.

  • Use official posters or a code from someone already on the lot
  • On controlled property, obey PPE, visitor, and parking rules; meet only where that facility allows
  • Set accurate hours so you match people on a similar schedule

4. Before you meet or ride

  • Prefer people you already know or who clearly share the same lot
  • Message in-app first; use chat for time and meeting point only. Avoid sharing home street addresses, financial details, or unnecessary personal data
  • Meet in public, well-lit areas (lot entrance, main gate, lobby) — not secluded locations
  • Tell a trusted person your plan and expected arrival time
  • Trust your instincts — cancel if anything feels wrong
  • Never feel obligated to accept a ride, passenger, or payment arrangement
  • On job sites or other controlled property, confirm visitor and parking rules with the facility before inviting others

5. Driving and the law

  • Obey all traffic and vehicle laws
  • Hold a valid licence and the insurance required where you drive
  • Do not drive impaired by alcohol, drugs, or fatigue
  • Do not use CarpoolQR for commercial taxi or for-hire work without proper licensing and insurance
  • Follow facility policies on personal vehicles, passengers, and access

6. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • Harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate anyone
  • Send sexual, hateful, violent, or illegal content
  • Impersonate others or create fake accounts
  • Scrape, spam, or abuse the Service
  • Share another person’s private information without a lawful basis
  • Use the Service while under 18
  • Pressure others into unsafe situations, off-property meetups, or prohibited facility access

7. Reporting and blocking

If someone violates these guidelines, stop contact. Use in-app Block and Report tools where available. You may leave a lot at any time. For serious abuse of the Service, email info@carpoolqr.com. We may suspend accounts that create risk for others. We are not an emergency service.

8. People who Host a lot

People who post QR codes remain responsible for that facility’s policies, orientations, and insurance programs. CarpoolQR does not replace HR, EHS/safety, security, or parking management. Hosts should display accurate lot information and make clear that participation is software-assisted matching, not a shuttle or transport service.

9. No liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GSR Solutions Inc. and CarpoolQR are not liable for injury, loss, delay, or dispute arising from interactions between users or any ride, meeting, or visit arranged using the Service. See the Terms of Use for full legal terms.
